What makes our drapes top notch?
Silk, interlining and lining - There is a difference!

About Our Silk

Our Silk is among the smoothest, heaviest silk available. It has an
amazing sheen and brilliance which is the hallmark of truly custom,
designer quality silk drapes. A rougher, more "nubby" silk is
typically used to make lower priced, ready made drapes. This type
of silk has little to no sheen and lacks the radiance that
our silk provides.

Notice how our silk is smooth and radiant. Look at the picture next
to ours and you'll see how rough it looks compared to our smooth
silk. This is the most common silk used for ready made drapes,
on-line sites and mass retailers.

About Our Interlining

Interlining is absolutely essential for silk drapes and the heavier, the better. It adds an extra barrier of protection and provides structure and fullness to your silk draperies. We are the only on-line silk drapery source that has heavy bump interlining available.  It can be the difference between a drapery and a magnificently full, sumptuous drapery. Our standard interlining is a heavy flannel, which will provide the weight necessary for a luxurious waterfall of fabric. Beware of those that don't use interlining at all. You absolutely need this in order to have a full, opulent silk drape.

About Our Lining

Good quality lining is extremely important to the overall look and
feel of a silk drapery panel. It provides extra light filtration and
protection as well as a nice, finished look and feel. We use only
premium Sateen lining that has a rich look and luxurious feel.
It's also wrinkle resistant.

Most sites that line their drapes typically use a lower grade, lighter
weight cotton lining. This is much more economical and increases
their profit margins, but it does not add to the quality of the drape
and can be a wrinkling nightmare.

Ordering Silk Drapes can be tricky if you don't know what to look for.
There are many sites that advertise what looks like a pretty silk drapery
panel for as low as $99. What many people don't realize is that these
panels typically are not interlined and have no pleats, therefore, absolutely no fullness. In other words, they are very flimsy panels that simply do not compare to our custom, high quality drapes.

At DreamDrapes.com, you get a fully custom, designer quality silk drape similarly found in swanky curtain boutiques or with interior designers for about HALF the price. The process couldn't be easier. You simply order your swatches, take your measurements and contact our customer service department. You'll receive a free design consultation with one or our window specialists who will make certain you receive fabulously tailored silk drapes that fit your windows perfectly.
