Determining Finished Length for all Panels

We recommend that you choose a length that is long enough so that your drapes can be installed as high above your window or door as possible. This gives a more dramatic, designer look and gives the illusion of higher ceilings.

TIPS:

For drapes that will be hung with rings
Measure the distance from your rod to the floor. Deduct the ring height from this amount. There is typically a 1 ½” – 2” ring “drop”. Please make sure you factor in the exact drop for the rings you will be using.

For rod pocket drapes
The finished length will include a 3” pocket and the height of the flange, if any.

For grommet drapes
The top of your grommet drapes will be approximately 1” higher than the top of the grommet opening.

PUDDLE GUIDE

Puddles can range anywhere from 1” to 10” and can enhance the look of your draperies significantly. Simply determine the amount of puddle you would like and add that to your finished Length. Here’s some tips:

If the look you would like to achieve is:
Understated - Add 2”-4”
Elegant - Add 4” -6”
Luxurious - Add 6” – 8”
Glamorous - Add 8” -10”
